Soup for all!

"Soup for me! Soup for you!"

Those were the words uttered by Seinfeld’s infamous Soup Nazi, Larry Thomas, today in New York City's Union Square Park.

Wait a minute. Whatever happened to “NO soup for you!”?

There was a rather pleasant air about the often grouchy chef today. Perhaps he’s turned over a nice new leaf now that he's gearing up with Seinfeld, Do Something, and Sony Pictures Television for the Seinfeld Campus Tour -- a campaign to collect canned food in 26 cities across the nation.

And the Soup Nazi isn't the only thing on the menu.

At each stop (click here for a schedule of cities and dates) Seinfeld fans will be treated to some of the sitcom's most classic miscellany: the puffy shirt, the fusilli Jerry statue, the bro, the Estelle Castanza doll. These prized pieces and more will be criss-crossing the nation on the 60-foot bio diesel bus that’s currently parked in Union Square. But that's not all! Catch up with all the props, the best moments, and even sit in “Monk’s Diner” and have some of Kramer’s Frozen Yogurt. Capture the essence that is Seinfeld!

All this fun comes with a serious message: take action -- do something! As a part of the national “Do Something with Seinfeld” campaign and in an effort to give back to a city that has contributed to make Seinfeld a household name, Sony Pictures Television and Do Something have reached out to campus students to help provide much needed nourishment to impoverished families in the NYC community -- and wherever the eco-friendly tour stops.

So where does the Soup Nazi come in? Well instead of serving soup (or, rather, "NO soup"), Larry has been taking in canned food donations from the public all day in Union Square Park.

CGG caught up with the actually rather(gasp!) friendly Soup Nazi this morning, and here's what he had to say! Click here for the exclusive interview!
