As summer winds down and the school year ramps up, safe driving matters more than ever. Speed and distraction are two of the biggest risks for young drivers: and the numbers prove it.

• Speed kills. In 2022, speed was a factor in 30% of fatal crashes involving teen drivers (15–18).
• Distraction is deadly. In 2023 alone, 3,275 people were killed in distraction-related crashes, and 5% of drivers in fatal crashes were reported distracted.
