OUR MODEL

We’ve spent 30 years alongside young people at the front lines of social change, and we use what we’ve learned to help channel their passion into action. Through volunteer initiatives, trainings, leadership opportunities, events, campaigns, and programs, we help today’s young people learn about the issues shaping our world, and build the skills and confidence to take action, and make lasting change on the issues that matter most to them.

Tatiana, 20

Tatiana joined our Voter Catalyst Network (VCN) and became one of our young leaders to help their peers and neighbors get registered to vote in the 2024 General Election. She hosted multiple voter registration events, attended voter education meetings, and won a trip to NYC to attend our Election Night Party.

Arnold, 20

Arnold, one of our inaugural Civic Fellows and Futures Ball honoree, strategized about how to scale his program, Jiggabyte, Gloves Up Guns Down, a youth-led solution to counteract the gun violence he and his peers face in their community.

Felicia, 22

As a 2024 Civic Fellow, Felicia created a social media series called "The Magic Reset", and published her County Workshop Mission, which targets mental health advocacy across New York City's five boroughs. Her initiatives aim to create impactful conversations and educational resources about mental health.

Maksim, a DoSomething Generation Future Winner, is a Climate and Mental Health Activist who hosts Climate Cafes in Los Angeles, helped secure mental health onto academic curricula, and spotlighted on MTV Mental Health Action Day.

Isoke, one of our inaugural Civic Fellows, used media and storytelling to deepen the impact of The Village House Pantry, an organization that she created to eradicate food insecurity in New York City.

Saravana, 17

Not only is Saravana one of thousands of young people who have advocated against book bans as part of our Uncensored campaign, but he is also a representative in his district’s Board of Education.
