Closing the Loop on the COVID-19 & Physical Distancing Campaign
Check out the impact you made with 20,524 DoSomething members
Hey,
Thank you SO much for participating in the COVID-19 & Physical Distancing campaign!
Over 20,524 members like you signed up for the campaign, posting their physical distancing photos and sharing 18,767 tips to keep ourselves healthy and get through this together. (Here are 11 of our favorite physical distancing tips from the DoSomething community.)
By physical distancing, you’re literally saving lives, which is seriously powerful stuff. Thank you.
Incredible Members
We had SO many members rock this campaign. Here are a few of the many, many standouts:
DoSomething member Tatum, 19, says:
“First, do not feel pressured to be productive during this time. I have been seeing a lot of quotes spreading around about the beauty of this situation, and while there may be positive things that can come out of it, those of us with mental health issues may be struggling to relate to these kitschy postings.”
DoSomething member Madlyn, 17, says:
“My tip is to use items around you in a creative way! Discover new songs (make a quarantine playlist), grab a paper and pencil and draw the first thing you see, try out a new recipe in the kitchen. This time we are spending at home can be used to appreciate the world around us.”
DoSomething member Xorah, 16, says:
“Use your resources! Take advantage of all the free stuff. Free books on Audible, virtual college/university tours (YouVisit), church at home (BibleProject), Ivy League courses (google it, there are almost 500 of them) and internet access (Spectrum). Take advantage of the time that you have to do something you love or do something new.”
Scholarship Updates
Congratulations to DoSomething member Elena, 18, who earned our COVID-19 collection page scholarship! She took a quiz to learn how to make a voting plan amid COVID-19 election changes.
(Want more opportunities to win easy scholarships for volunteering? Update your subscription preferences and subscribe to Pays To Do Good, our monthly scholarship newsletter, where you’ll receive scholarship winner announcements receive new chances to win scholarships.)
Elena says:
“I believe that voting is one of the most important ways for us to change policy, but I know that young people often don’t do it.I want other young people like me to take advantage of it and represent themselves in elections.”
