Results: You’re a Jaywalker!
Crosswalks? Who needs ‘em? Waiting for a green light? No thanks. We get it -- you march to the beat of your own drum. That’s great, but it can also be dangerous if you’re riding or walking diagonally across the street. Here’s how to get there quickly and keep being you...while staying safe on the street too.
Pre-pack your stuff the night before.
Have you been known to jaywalk if you’re running late to school? Choose an outfit, make your lunch, and pack your backpack the night before. Then it’s no stress (and no rush!) - you’ll stay ready!
Use the calendar and set alarms on your phone.
This is another time-saving tip so you don’t feel the need to rush across the street. No need to constantly check the clock to stay on time. Let your phone remind you!
Rack up those steps!
Do you sometimes jaywalk because it’s convenient? Jaywalking might be a shorter distance, but taking those extra steps to use the crosswalk will make you happier and healthier in the long-run, not to mention safe in the now.
...about how well you know your bestie, and share with them a road safety guide. You could earn a $2,000 scholarship!
Keep Your Friends & Family Safe on the Road
Everyone knows speeding is dangerous, but warnings from parents and scare tactics from ads don’t change the behavior of young drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Know who can? YOU! Share these tips to keep friends and family safe in and around vehicles.
Is your friend constantly DJing behind the wheel?
Tell them to make a playlist before you hit the road!
Is your friend constantly on the brink of road rage?
Make them a playlist of relaxing music for the road. Another idea? Daily meditation...just not while they’re driving (obviously). Send them an app like Headspace, which can be really effective in keeping them calm on the road...and, ya know, everywhere else.
Is your friend always walking across the street while texting?
Suggest that they “pull over” on the sidewalk to send a text or like a photo. They’ll stay safe in the street -- and be less likely to make an awkward typo. Crisis averted!
