Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction...but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.

“STEM has been a constant in my life since I was young; when first learning about STEM, I found myself bored in class. Science rarely made sense for me, as elementary school science felt disorganized and I often did not understand any of the content. That all changed in eighth grade with my teacher, Mrs. Engler. She taught the eighth-grade biology class, and for the first time, science clicked.

“The STEM Heroes campaign is important to me because I know that being supported and inspired can have a major impact on any child’s future. Growing up, I used to watch Doc McStuffins all the time. I sat in front of the TV on weekends, humming to the tune of her theme song, inspired by her determination to help others. She was one of my first introductions to how it feels to be passionate about a cause at such a young age.
