Back-to-School, Stay Safe on the Road
Late summer means new routines, hangouts at the library, sleepovers (after you’ve done your homework, thank you), and weekend plans. But remember: night and weekends are some of the most dangerous times for teen drivers. In fact, data shows that 44% of teen crash deaths happen between 9 p.m.–6 a.m., and half of those occur on Friday through Sunday.
Distractions are another big risk! Data shows that 6% of teen drivers in fatal crashes were reported as distracted, and even that number is most likely underreported. Phones, friends, or even music can pull your focus when you need it most.
But here’s the good news: you can Do Something about it!
This back-to-school season, help keep everyone safer on the road by sharing safety tips with your crew.
