8 Incredible Things Done By Kids in Hospitals
Playing NFL quarterback, dancing with Beyoncé, and more!
It only takes about five minutes chatting with an enthusiastic four-year-old to understand that kids have a pretty limitless imagination. So what happens when they’re given the chance to be or do whatever they can imagine? Read below about some of the incredible things done by kids in hospitals when they’re guided by their own creativity and dreams.
Hospital stays are made a little easier with imagination -- help children in hospitals unleash the power of play through DoSomething’s Huddle to Brighten Someone’s Day campaign, powered by the NFL Huddle for 100. Join thousands of young people making activity books to help brighten kids’ days!
1. Miles, 5 - Batkid
Miles first captured our hearts in 2013 when he transformed into the mini caped crusader, Batkid. He fought alongside Batman to take down the Riddler and Penguin (with a little help from the San Francisco police and fire departments).
2. Ryan, 6 - Falcons Football Player
Ryan spent a weekend with the Atlanta Falcons, where he was signed on as an honorary member of the team. That included hanging out with Freddie the Falcon, practicing with the team, and giving quarterback Matt Ryan a run for his money.
3. Taylon - Dance with Beyoncé
Taylon was front row at Beyoncé’s Mrs. Carter Show World Tour stop in Las Vegas, where she got to dance and sing along with her favorite pop star. Beyoncé LITERALLY dropped in from the sky to give Taylon a hug and an extra special serenade.
4. Olivia, 5 - Ballerina
Olivia joined the dancers of the Australian Ballet as they prepared for their performance of The Nutcracker (her favorite!). After a private lesson with lead dancer Brooke Lockett, Olivia practiced her pirouettes with the other ballerinas backstage and watched her new friends perform.
5. Susanna 13 - Zookeeper
Susanna loves animals -- so much so that she spent a day being a zookeeper at the Maryland Zoo. She groomed, fed, and pet animals, including giraffes, dik-diks, and penguins (which are apparently very ticklish, according to Susanna).

6. Zayden, 7 - Mission to Saturn
Zayden had a truly ~out of this world~ experience when he suited up to embark on a virtual reality mission to Saturn. He was prepped for launch by a former NASA astronaut, Commander LeRoy Chiao, and had no problem cruising through the stars.
7. Jorge - Marine for a Day
Jorge fulfilled his dream of becoming a “soldier” when he became an honorary member of the Marine Corps for a day. The service members at Camp Pendleton promoted him to the rank of General, took him for a ride in a tank, and showed him how to train like a Marine.
8. Nikolina, 7 - Royal Ball
Nikolina had a coronation complete with a carriage, a castle, and a precession of princesses. After being crowned Princess Nikolina, the royal ball was in full swing for her and her 875 guests -- not even a surprise appearance by the Evil Queen could stop it.
