Results: You’re a Late Date!

Your are NOT 10 minutes away! You’ve been known to run behind schedule and look we get it - - happens to the best of us! And no worries! Use these easy tips to be on time - - and to be safe on the road.

Pre-pack your stuff.

Running late for school? Skip the GRWM, make your lunch, and pack your backpack the night before. Then it’s no stress (and no rush!) in the morning or behind the wheel.

Set your clock 5-10 minutes fast.

That way, if you’re running 5-10 minutes late based on your clock, you’re running on time based on everyone else’s.

Use the calendar and set alarms on your phone.

No need to constantly check the clock -- or forget to constantly check the clock. Let your phone remind you!

Keep Your Friends & Family Safe on the Road

Everyone knows speeding is dangerous, but warnings from parents and scare tactics from ads don’t change the behavior of young drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Know who can? YOU! Share these tips to keep friends and family safe in and around vehicles.

Is your friend constantly DJing behind the wheel?

Tell them to make a playlist before you hit the road!

Is your friend constantly on the brink of road rage?

Make them a playlist of relaxing music for the road. Another idea? Daily meditation...just not while they’re driving (obviously). Send them an app like Headspace, which can be really effective in keeping them calm on the road...and, ya know, everywhere else.

Is your friend always walking across the street while texting?

Suggest that they “pull over” on the sidewalk to send a text or like a photo. They’ll stay safe in the street -- and be less likely to make an awkward typo. Crisis averted!

As one of the largest nonprofits exclusively for young people and social change, DoSomething.org has activated and fueled millions of young people in every U.S. area code and 189 countries to take action to improve their communities, and change the world.
