10 VOLUNTEER CREDIT HOURS

We're so glad you asked! First, please sign up for membership. Then, find and complete the action. Be sure to double-check your submission to avoid delays in the review and acceptance process. Then, submit. It's that easy!

DoSomething offers two pathways to obtain your first 10 volunteer credits.

First, each of the volunteer activities within the “Choose Five” category typically provides 1-2 credit hours of volunteering time. Of course, you’ll have to be ambitious. Picking up 5 cans isn’t the same as recycling hundreds – and our members have recycled thousands!

Or, if you prefer, you can choose a volunteer activity from within the “Choose Five” category and then take on the Choose Your Own Service Adventure, which typically requires more time. You’ll need to work with your facilitator to generate an agreed-upon solution.

Real, live DoSomething staff review all submissions. We take time to do so, and sometimes it can take up to a week for us to review your submissions. Please be patient and be sure to submit in advance of when you may need to hand in paperwork.

We typically reject submissions that don’t contain good evidence for the match between the volunteer activity and the number of hours submitted, and/or cases in which the information requested by the action is not addressed. To minimize frustration, please be sure to read the guidelines carefully.
