Any fan of Netflix’s On My Block is also a fan of the charismatic Ruby Martinez, played by Jason Genao. Besides OMB, the 22-year-old has also been in the X-Men movie Logan and another Netflix original, The Get Down. But what would Jason be doing if he weren’t acting? - Jason Genao doesn’t have a plan B after acting, but if Hollywood were to say, “see you later,” he’d probably open a restaurant. Jason really enjoys cooking and almost became a chef!
- Jason is 100% Dominican. Both of his parents are from the Dominican Republic.
- His hometown is Jersey City, New Jersey.
- After failing his first audition, Jason literally googled “how to audition” and, three auditions later, scored a role on The Get Down.
