When trash and pollutants, like plastic bags, food wrappers, cigarette butts, and other discarded items are left on streets or in public areas, they often get washed into storm drains during rain. These storm drains usually lead directly to local rivers, lakes, oceans and other waterways. Also known as stormwater runoff, it is one of the leading causes of water pollution in our communities.
We need you to do something to protect waterways right now!
Organize or join a community cleanup to collectively remove trash before it enters our waterways.
