Results: You’re a Chatty Cathy!
Whether it’s backseat driving, talking about last night’s game, or gossiping about last weekend’s party, you always have something to say on the road. Your friends love your great stories and hot takes...but too much talking can distract the driver. Here are ways to make sure you’re being heard and staying safe on the road.
Hop out the whip and call your friends and family.
Getting dressed, cleaning your room, or working out? Those are perfect (and safe) times to talk it out.
Send yourself a note.
In the notes section of your phone, write down all the things you need to tell and ask your friend. Then bring them up later when they’re not driving and when you have their full attention.
Make a roadie playlist that slaps!
When you’re playing music (at a reasonable volume), you’ll be more likely to listen and less likely to distract the driver with too much talking.
...about how well you know your bestie, and share with them a road safety guide. You could earn a $2,000 scholarship!
Keep Your Friends & Family Safe on the Road
Everyone knows speeding is dangerous, but warnings from parents and scare tactics from ads don’t change the behavior of young drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Know who can? YOU! Share these tips to keep friends and family safe in and around vehicles.
Is your friend constantly DJing behind the wheel?
Tell them to make a playlist before you hit the road!
Is your friend constantly on the brink of road rage?
Make them a playlist of relaxing music for the road. Another idea? Daily meditation...just not while they’re driving (obviously). Send them an app like Headspace, which can be really effective in keeping them calm on the road...and, ya know, everywhere else.
Is your friend always walking across the street while texting?
Suggest that they “pull over” on the sidewalk to send a text or like a photo. They’ll stay safe in the street -- and be less likely to make an awkward typo. Crisis averted!
